Geoff, do it, I have not looked back since fitting a set. It restores the lost power due to bad Y join design plus a little more power and more low to mid torque which is much appreciated in the AWD. As for fuel economy, one tends to drive harder after fitting one so naturally it will use more but I reckon because it has more low to mid range torque will help with fuel consumption. I also always shift manually and is in 5th at just over 40kph and reving at 1200rpm.
Just make sure you order the AWD one. the difference is the AWD rear pipe forms a circle shape as it curls around whereas the FWD version is more like a rounded corners square shape.
